What is Influencer Marketing?

Influencer Marketing is where brands engage with personalities that have a strong social media presence across many platforms, with the most popular being Instagram. My experience with Social Media Influencer Marketing lies within my most recent role with the Sydney Royal Easter Show at the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW.

Sydney Royal

EASTER SHOW

The Sydney Royal Easter Show is the largest ticketed event in Australia and the largest Agricultural Show in the Southern Hemisphere. The Show aims to bring the country and the city together. With over 12-hours of included entertainment and agricultural experiences with every ticket, the show aims to educate the public about agriculture and the food and fibre story.  In 2017 & 2018, the Show engaged with Influencers for promotion. You can see examples of content produced on the strip of images at the top of the page.

Why use Influencer Marketing?

Influencer Marketing is a successful marketing strategy that many brands are now using to target their key audience segments. Influencers also allow brands to promote through someone that has a key niche that an audience engages with on a daily and often, even an hourly basis. Influencers are also great because you don't need to create the content, they do it all for you! Here are some other reasons why your brand should collaborate and engage with influencers...

01

Build Brand Awareness

Influencers are the link between brands and their market awareness. It's been shown that the brand awareness that they create is unrivalled with traditional PR strategies. Exposure is so important in today’s saturated e-commerce space, so the more brand awareness you can achieve, the better.

02

they are a trusted voice in the market

It's been shown that people are more likely to trust the opinions of their peers, and with individuals feeling that they share a more personal connection with their favourite influencers, it makes perfect sense that they would trust them and the brands that they choose to endorse.

03

Direct accessibility to a target market

Influencers have very key demographics that follow them. If brands are smart with which influencers they select, they can tap into their desired market directly. Which in-turn, will lead to key brand awareness and an increase in sales.
